Description:
Martin Hagn's ( of Hagn Action fame ) personal rifle, built while he was employed at Griffin & Howe in the early 1960's and with which he hunted Alaska and the world.
Based on a pre-64 Winchester M70 action, this 9.3 x 62mm rifle features a 22" barrel with sweated on front sight ramp, sling swivel stud, rear sight "island" and front scope mount barrel sleeve to accomodate the claw mounted Zeiss 6x42 "Diatal-D" scope.
Stocked in a very nice piece of feathered French walnut, the pistol grip is finished with a steel cap and the butt with a leather covered pad with a L.O.P. of 13-1/2". The M70 bottom metal has been converted to an "inside-the-bow" release while the bolt knob has been stippled and dngraved. A classic sporting rifle by a world-class maker in a much under appreciated cartridge. ( Comes with a certificate of authenticity signed by Martin Hagn. ) $4995.00
