The pinfire was invented in 1843 by French gunmaker Casimir Lefaucheux. His design used a small brass pin protruding from the cartridge to ignite an internal primer cap. I believe this to be a model 1854 double action. The serial number is 27. Also on this gun is a metal detachable shoulder stock. Belgium proof mark on the bottom of the barrel. This gun has been professionally restored with nearly all of that finish remaining. Action works very good. If your are looking for something different and a good conversation piece this would be an awesome gun for you.
