Description:
Wichester 1886 deluxe,lightweight rifle in 45-70 1/2 octagon, and 1/2 magazine. Deluxe wood with checkered pistol grip stock, and ebony inlay in bottom of pistol grip. matching deluxe wood forend also with checkering. Correct crescent butt plate for a deluxe rifle. This rifle has a set trigger as described in cody letter ( included with the sale of the gun). Rifle originaly left the Winchester plant in 1894, chambered in 40-82 with a 30" octagon barrel, it was returned to Winchester in march of 1911 and it now wears a 26" Winchester marked and proofed nickel steel 1/2 octagon barrel with no rear sight cut, and the receiver has a lyman 21 sight. The wood is in great shape with only very little wear. the metal is all blued which is correct for a deluxe lightweight rifle. It does appear to have been reblued
