Description:
ENGRAVED 6.5x55mm Swede German GEWEHR 98 Rifle C&R WWI Era Sporter

Early 1900s Manufacture with DOUBLE SET TRIGGER

Here we present a C&R Gewehr 98 Rifle, made World War I in Germany. The Gewehr 98 is a German bolt action rifle that fired cartridges from a 5-round internal clip-loaded magazine that would have originally been chambered with the 7.92×57mm Mauser cartridge. It has since been re-barreled to chamber the 6.5x55mm cartridge and made into a fine hunting rifle. It features engraved borders and more engraving on the magazine floor plate and trigger guard. It has a barrel mounted rear sight and blocks for mounting a scope on the receiver.

The overall condition is near fine. Refinished when sporterized. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with sharp rifling. The stock has nice grain and checkering and remains solid and smooth.

This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.

Barrel is 20-1/2 inches.
