Description:
26 inch octagon barrel with a fairly bright about good bore showing some scattered areas of light pitting and a few spots of more moderate pitting with strong rifling throughout. The barrel and full length magazine have toned to a deep plum-brown patina showing more blue in protected areas and scattered areas of light pitting. Original sights include a German silver blade front and sporting rear. The receiver shows remnants of silvery case-hardened patina with faint smoky wisps of colors along the rear edges. Straight gripwalnut stocks remain in very good condition with the buttstock showing some older varnish added and scattered light handling marks. Crisp action. Not a bad example of a large caliber Winchester rifle that was made in 1893.
