Description:
Beautiful scroll engraved antique Winchester 1866 SRC, made in 1871; appears to be a .44 centerfire conversion; 20-inch barrel with excellent antique bore with just a few scattered rust spots; bore is very bright with strong rifling; still retains some of the original barrel markings. Very good solid stocks with no cracks or chips. The initials "L. S." follow the serial number and the carbine appears to have been engraved by period Winchester engraver, Lockwood Stanford.
