Here we present an antique Remington Model 1867 Rolling Block Cadet Rifle, manufactured circa 1868 in Ilion, New York. These boy-sized rifles were made from the old Navy contract pistol actions, which is why they still bear the Ordnance inspection markings. Only about 1,000 are estimated to have been made. The intention was to sell these through Hartley & Company to the various boys’ military schools and the like in the early-20th Century.
This one comes with a bayonet and sling swivels.
The overall condition is very good. Refinished. The action is excellent. The bore is shiny bright with nice rifling. The stock is solid. The bayonet fits as it should but is much more weathered than the rifle.
