Presented here is a very clean Series 70 Colt Commander 1911 semi auto pistol chambered in .45 auto caliber. The 1911 was designed by John Browning, the 1911 is the best-known of his designs to use the short recoil principle in its basic design. This particular example is of the Commander size configuration with full size grip and a shorter 4 1/4" barrel. This brushed stainless steel pistol is in very good condition overall and everything is mechanically perfect. The 4 1/4" barrel has a bright bore with strong rifling. The pistol has light handling marks and one small mark made during reassembly by the takedown pin. Several extras like spare grips, 3 magazines, hammer, trigger and safety. This pistol features an upswept beavertail grip safety, trigger adjustable for overtravel, finely checkered frame both front and rear, Novak style rear sight and tritium front sight. The 4 1/4" barrel has a bright bore with strong rifling. This pistol would make a fine concealed carry firearm where permitted by local and state laws.
