Here we present an unconverted three screw Ruger Single Six single action revolver chambered in .22 long rifle. The Ruger Single Six was introduced in 1953, and is still currently being made. These were originally chambered in 22 Long Rifle, but they also are chambered in 22 Magnum and 17 HMR. There have been a number of differences over the years. In fact, this is the old model. It is the original, and it was produced up until 1973. The new model came out which included a transfer bar that protected the firing pin in case the gun was dropped. Traditionally, these old models should be carried with only five rounds in the cylinder and one empty right there next to the firing pin. This particular example is in very good overall condition with very few handling marks and slight wear on the left side of the muzzle. There is a small spot on the bottom of the trigger guard (best seen in the last two photos). The grip panels are in very good condition and are free of cracks and chips. This is a flat top model and as such does not have a adjustable rear sight. This beautiful Ruger Single Six would make a great addition to an existing collect or a strong way to begin a new collection.
