Rare custom 30-06 by master gunmaker R.G.Owen. Built in 1928 for VL&D customer David Bruce on a Springfield action.This rifle features a quarter rib with express sights,trapdoor grip cap and buttplate,ebony forend tip,and Lyman front and rear sights. Owen is known as one of the pioneers of American custom rifles. He built rifles for Abercrombie and Fitch,Von Lengarte and Detmold,and many other well known sporting goods dealers. This gun is documented with a Griffin and Howe letter,a copy of the VL&D ledger,and biographical information on Owen and the buyer,David Bruce. The rifle is in excellent original condition. This is a true piece of American sporting history. C&R eligible.
