Description:
General Specs: Piotti, Year 2003, 12 Gauge, 6lb 9oz, Chokes IC/LM, LOP 14 3/4", DAH 2 3/8", DAC 1 1/2"
Serial Number: 9830

F. illi Piotti of Italy is amongst the top gunmakers in the world, a statement uncontested by knowledgeable gun enthusiasts.  The Piotti Piuma, or BSEE that we have here, sn9830 built by special order in 2003 is the company's BEST BOXLOCK gun.  The standard features include a receiver that is machined from a solid billet of Boehler steel in Piotti's own plant, using an Anson and Deely design with highly polished and hand fit internal parts, finely struck chopper lump barrels with fixed chokes, trigger guard with rolled edge, beaded fences, and a perfectly hand-fitted stock finely checkered including the butt of the gun.  The extras you will find on this gun include the sculpted receiver that is hand filed and shaped to perfection in the same vein as their best sidelock guns, rose and scroll engraving, bone and charcoal case colored action, articulated front trigger, diamond shaped wrist, and upgraded Turkish walnut stocks in line with their finest offerings you would usually see on a Monaco grade gun.  The attention to detail in this firearm is gun art in its purest form.  From the metal-to-metal fit, wood to metal fit, nearly invisible screws, hand checkered wood...THIS IS PERFECTION YOU RARELY SEE.   The hand cut engraving is finely detailed and signed by Aron Castelli covering 75% of the action and the trigger guard is engraved as well.  Weighing 6lbs.9oz. and balanced perfectly 1/8" ahead of the hinge pin, the handling dynamics of this gun match the artistry of its pieces.  Piotti guns handle like a dream.  The stock dimensions (shown below) includes 14 ¾” LOP to the checkered butt…a nice long piece of gorgeous Turkish walnut.  With 28" barrels choked IC/LM (.007/.015 constriction) and the gorgeous English style stock, it is a racy, sexy upland bird gun that has seen little use.  If you were to buy this gun new today it would cost in excess of $32,000.  Even though the gun is in as new condition, with 99% metal and wood finishes, you can buy this gun today at a fraction of that price.  We have in house gunsmiths, so if you wish to alter chokes, bend the stock, add a longer pad, etc. we can do that within 2 weeks of purchase to custom fit this gun to your needs.  Thanks for looking!

Common requests are: -stock bending to suit your particular requirements -addition of any specified butt pad to increase length of pull -alteration of chokes to suit your shooting preferences -lengthening of chambers and forcing cones -darkening stock color with penetrating stains -restoring any part of the gun including rust blue, charcoal blue, bone and charcoal case color, wood restoration and checkering recuts. If you like one our guns but it needs "tweaked", let us know and we can quote you a time and price. Some enthusiasts like the guns "as found" and others want them "just so". We often list guns as found and let the particular buyer choose how they want their gun to fit or look.
