Presented here is a very nice Smith & Wesson Model 24-3 in .44 Special caliber. The S&W Model 24-3 6 1/2'' is a revolver from the N-framed line of Smith & Wesson. The frame of this model is made out of metal providing a sturdy foundation for the N-frame representative. A group of aficionados calling themselves the 44 Associates developed. Led by Elmer Keith, this group learned that by handloading, the .44 Spl. could perform much better than the factory loads of the day. Keith, along with his friend Harold Croft, developed a semi-wadcutter design of cast bullets that performed better than anything of the day for self-defense, as well as hunting. This example has very little wear and light turn rings. The 6 1/2" barrel has a great bore with strong rifling. The grips are free of cracks or chips. The action is smooth and locks up tightly in the "fired" condition. The original box is included.
