PISTOL/CUTLASS .44 Cal. Percussion ELGIN Type Single Shot Pistol with Blade
Inspired by Jim Bowie’s Epic Sandbar Knife Fight
Here we present a Single Shot Pistol with a Knife Blade Mounted Underneath. This appears to have been made in the 20th Century and it was modeled after the 19th Century original, the Elgin Cutlass Pistol, which is said to have been inspired by Jim Bowie. This pistol has a turn-screw smooth bore barrel with a side-mounted ramrod. The blade underneath is a clip-point. The trigger guard goes into a secondary bow that attaches to the pommel of the grip.
The overall condition is very good. The action is excellent. The bore is smooth. The grip is solid. The edge of the knife is unsharp at the moment.
Barrel is 4 inches.
Blade is 6-1/2 inches.
