Nice example of the best reproduction of the Colt Paterson Percussion Revolver ever made; this Number 5 "Texas" Model is in .36 Caliber and was produced by Aldo Uberti from the mid 1990's into the early 2000's. They also produced these (or at least the parts) for Colt who did a small run of these as well. I have a friend whose an antique gunsmith whose worked on a number of original Patersons over the years and he told me once that these Ubertis were "very close" to the originals. These came in regular blue/black and brighter charcoal blue as options. This one is the darker blue/black which is a little more durable than the charcoal blue. Finish is about 99% with a few nicks and light edge wear. Hammer, floor plate, trigger, and backstrap are color case hardened. Grips have 95% of their original finish with a number of light marks in the walnut as though someone was trying to distress it a little to give it a bit more of an authentic feel. Screws are all nice. Action works just like it should with the trigger popping out from the bottom of the frame when the hammer is cocked. A nice chance to get a pretty accurate replica of a Paterson. I look for these at shows and these are becoming almost impossible to find. Antique Percussion Replica.
