Description:
Early 3 digit 600 serial range rifle with a very beautiful rich patina on the brass frame. 24 inch octagon barrel chambered in 44 Henry RF caliber with a fair bore showing some pitting in the grooves but good rifling. Barrel is a plum/brown patina with good markings. Original sights include a flip up ladder rear and a blade front. Brass has that nice untouched look to it. Lower tang has the "H" factory inspector stamp from Benjamin Tyler Henry himself. Hammer and lever have traces of darkened case colors. Smooth walnut stock appears to have been lightly cleaned and freshened. Not a bad looking example of and early lever action repeater and Civil War era rifle from September of 1862.
