Serial # 5312798 places manufacture between late 1953-1954. This grade of rifle features a NEW Criterion barrel with a throat and muzzle measurement of 0+ and is chambered in .308. Stock is new walnut and features a CMP cartouche on the left side. Without doing a complete disassembly, I believe this rifle to be nearly or all Springfield armory parts. Easily identified parts such as bolt, trigger group, and op rod all bear the SA marking. This beautiful rifle is delivered with a custom molded hard case, CMP chamber flag, one 8 round enblock clip, and a CMP certificate.
