Description:
1943 production Model 1911A1 pistol that was manufactured by the Ithaca Gun Company using a Colt Model 1911A1 frame. These pistols are shown in the Colt serial number range with Ithaca inspector/proof markings. The slide is marked on the left side with "ITHACA GUN CO. INC. / ITHACA. N.Y." markings along with the "P" proof on top of the slide in front of the rear sight. The right side of the frame is marked "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" over "No. 1145608" and "RIA", the front end is marked "M1911A1 US ARMY", and the crossed cannon ordnance proof is behind the right grip. The left side of the frame is stamped "GHD" with a "P" proof next to the magazine catch. The left side trigger guard bow is marked "VP". The right front of the trigger guard bow is marked with a small "55". Colt style brown plastic checkered grips. The barrel is a High Standard that is marked with an "HS" and "P" proofs on the right and left side of the lug. It is completed with an unmarked magazine. .45 ACP
