Here we present an unconverted three screw Ruger Single Six single action revolver chambered in .22 LR/.22 WMR. The Ruger Single Six was introduced in 1953, and is still currently being made. These were originally chambered in 22 Long Rifle, but they also are chambered in 22 Magnum and 17 HMR. There have been a number of differences over the years. In fact, this is the old model. It is the original, and it was produced up until 1973. The new model came out which included a transfer bar that protected the firing pin in case the gun was dropped. Traditionally, these old models should be carried with only five rounds in the cylinder and one empty right there next to the firing pin. This particular example is in very good overall condition exhibiting a little high edge wear and some muzzle wear. There are a few small marks on the bottom of the trigger guard and some thinning of the finish on the right side of the ejector rod housing. The butt of the grip frame has some finish loss on the front and back. Grip panels are in good condition but are aftermarket. Light turn rings on the cylinders. The action is smooth with very distinct "clicks".
