Description:
For sale is a like new 1956 Colt Official Police revolver in .38 Special caliber. It features the less common 6" barrel. The pictures tell the story; the finish shows virtually no wear. Action is tight, and grip checkering is as sharp as when it left the factory, with one small mark on the lower portion of the left grip. The interesting Colt Archives letter shows the gun was shipped to Federal Laboratories in Salsburg, PA. Federal Labs was a manufacturer of tear gas and incendiary bombs purchased by the military in WWII, and continued to produce tear gas products through the early '70's. I believe this gun was purchased for use by their security department. The package includes a correct-era box numbered to a different gun. More pictures are available upon request.
