A very nice example of a rare Hood Arms Hard Pan 2 in 32 RF late 1870s 5 shot spur trigger
The gun over all is in excellent condition with 95% nickle remaining, mint grips birds head style
Cylinder is shiny bore wise no pitting(pics posted)....barrel looks to be a smooth bore with the condition of the gun ,no pitting im gona say smooth bore was never rifled.....to wear the rifling out on a gun it has to be shot a lot to were the gun would show very hard usage wouldnt look in excellent condition wise nor mechanics condition..
Mechanics--safety works fine single cock ,gun times perfect and tight on each cylinder there is slight issue with the cylinder key locking arm wanting to engage sometimes,before lifter arm starts to rotate cylinder...very minor issue
very slight touch on cylinder itl work perfect..possibly a spring has lost its tension a little bit..the lifter arm and cylinder locking arm both look in great condition hardly worn
You dont usually find these with working actions that are tight or even functioning in this kind of condition,they usually have free spining cylinders,hammer wont stay back ect
A very nice example,would make a nice addition to any fine gun collection
Gun has very low serial as well at #1994 all numbers match including grips which are numbered
