This is truly an exceptional Colt 1851 Navy. The condition is as found exhibiting approximately 98% original deep blue on the barrel. The frame shows nearly all of the original vibrant color case hardening finish. The grip is mint. Virtually all of the silver remains on the backstrap and trigger guard. Now what makes this example so affordable is the cylinder showing about 75-80% of the original blue that has flaked off. There is a slight bit of abrasion showing near the serial number stamping on the cylinder. An example almost identical to this condition except for having a better cylinder sold recently for $92,000. The only difference between the two in condition were the cylinders. This is a top-tier example that if your looking for a high condition nearly new example and don’t want to pay for the extra 3-4% total finish this is as good as you are going to find. Excellent investment and collector grade firearm!
