MARLIN Model 1893 Lever Action .30-30 WCF Rifle Tang-Mounted Peep C&R Marlin’s First Smokeless Powder Rifle with SCABBARD! Here we present a J.M. Marlin Model 1893 Rifle in .30-30 WCF, made circa 1906 in New Haven, Connecticut. Marlin Firearms was founded in the 1870s by John Marlin and was one of Winchester’s biggest competitors for the lever action market in the late-19th and into the 20th Century. Marlin produced a large assortment of firearms such as lever-action rifles, pump-action shotguns and single shot rifles. The Model 1893 represents Marlin’s first smokeless powder lever action rifle. It features a solid top frame with side ejection and a smooth action. The barrel is a medium weight part octagon of 24 inches, chambered for the rifle cartridge .30-30 Winchester Center Fire. This rifle was one of the most popular Marlin lever-action models ever made with over one million model 1893s manufactured. This one is in great shape and remains a classic! This rifle features a part-round, part-octagonal barrel in the classic .30-30 cartridge that has become just as much a Marlin cartridge as a Winchester cartridge. The front sight is a pierced post with a bead on top. It pairs nicely with the tang-mounted rear peep sight. The overall condition is very good. Original finish/patina. Strong action. Bright bore with sharp rifling. The walnut stock is solid. There is an old repair at the wrist that is immobile. There is a split at the heel of the butt that is likewise immobile. The scabbard is very good for age and is lightly tooled on the side that would have faced out. A very cool cowboy rig! This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic. Barrel is 24 inches. Caliber: .30-30 WCF Overall condition as seen in photos. Very Fast. Very Safe. FREE SHIPPING. Will need to be sent to your local FFL or C&R licensee. This firearm is classified as a Curio & Relic.
