First Series 1936 Mfg. Colt Detective Special in .38 Special, Nickel finish over a 100% coverage hand coverage of intricate scrolled hand engraving. Great fitting Stag grips look vintage to the gun. Crisp and tight DA/SA Trigger with rock solid lockup. Shiney bore with good rifling. Comes in original Colt box with owners papers, box also in excellent undamged condition. Colt letter shows revolver was shipped May 11,1936 to Sutcliffe & Company, Louisville Kentucky in a shipment of one gun. Condition is excellent and shows no wear or peeling to finish, feels great in the hand but makes me feel guilty when holstered. Hate to carry such a piece of the gunmakers art in steel to risk putting a mark on her as I bang through my day. A real Gem of a Carry Colt in fine dress in high condition with box.
