Description:
Serial #S176888, .44 Magnum, 6 1/2" barrel with an excellent, bright bore. This is a rather odd late ‘50s revolver that has matching numbers on the frame, cylinder, and extractor; however, while the barrel is correct and matches the condition of the revolver, it has a lower serial number then the frame. The barrel retains 97-98% of the original blue with some very mild surface scratches at the muzzle. The frame and cylinder look look to have been factory refinished although there are no refinish markings. The cylinder has only a faint turn-ring on the cylinder. The hammer and trigger have a nearly commensurate amount of original color case-hardening remaining as well. The diamond-center target stocks are likewise in fine-excellent condition with only mild flattening of the points, and a single tiny chip where the grips meet the trigger guard. The revolver is housed in its original black S&W “44 MAGNUM" presentation case, numbered to the gun on the end, and with a tattered satin lining. None of the original tools are present. This is a fine example of a desirable, pre-29 revolver, that would make a great addition to any collection. FFL or C&R
