Very interesting and unusual pre-war revolver. Frame dates to 1923. The Army Special's serial numbers continue into Official Police serial numbers at approximately 540,XXX in 1926. Revolver has a 6"" heavy barrel. Metal is excellent and appears to be factory. Rampant Colt and barrel stampings are crisp and sharp. It is the opinion of the describer that this is most likely a left over frame that was assembled at a later date with an Official Police Heavy Barrel at the factory. A factory letter would help clarify this. Revolver is in excellent condition. If the work is not factory it is certainly top notch quality work.
