This Irwin Pedersen Model U.S. Carbine M1 is a right-hand semi-auto U.S. Military rifle in .30 Carbine Cal. It has an 18-inch barrel. A blade front sight with protective sides and an adjustable aperture rear sight. The butt stock is a smooth grip hardwood pistol grip. The forearm is a smooth grip two-piece hardwood. Serial Number 1765177. This is perhaps the rarest examples of the M1 Carbine due to the small number completed. The original contract required 100,000 carbines to be manufactured but due to quality issues and mismanagement, production was turned over to a division of General Motors, Saginaw. .30 Carbine
