Description:
Arisaka Type 38, chambered in 6.5X50 MM. Features include: Mauser inspired bolt action, 19 in. barrel, 5 shot internal box mag., one-piece bolt construction, controlled feed Mauser style extractor, adj. rear peep style ladder sight, fixed shrouded front blade sight, wooden stock, side mounted sling swivels, metal buttplate, finger grooves on forearm, knurled knob style safety located on the rear of the bolt body, lever-style bolt release with integral ejector, blued finish. Stock condition is showing a fair amount of age with all the scuffs and marks. Bore could use some cleaning. Almost all the bluing has turned to a brown patina and there is a fair amount of corrosion and pitting on the metal. Seen clearly on the top of the receiver is the Japanese lettering indicating 'Type 38.' On the left side of the receiver we can see the serial number of 51171 followed by the Nagoya factory arsenal mark. Unfortunately the series marking, to the left of the 5 in the serial number, is too badly damaged to tell accurately what it was. 6.5 x 50mm
