Description:
SOLD Up for sale is a really uniqe Browning Superposed 2 Barrel set from 1964. The 12ga barrels are 30", feature a Broadway rib, and are choked Full over Modified. I've never seen a Broadway ribbed set be chambered for magnum shells and I've also never seen a Broadway rib gun with field stock and forend configurations. Lastly I've never seen a Broadway gun with an extra 20ga barrel set that is also in a field configuration, 28" with standard vent rib and choked Improved Modified over Improved Cylinder.
LOP Measures 14" to the end of the recoil pad, I'm torn on weather the recoil pad could be factory original due to the Magnum chambers but would have expected the LOP to be slightly longer if it were. In all honesty anything is possible as I assume this was a special order or potentially even sent back to Browning to be fitted with 20ga barrels and potentially restocked from a trap configuration.
The 20 ga barrels retain about 97% original blue with light wear on high edges, light operational wear just ahead of the forend, thinning on the lower barrel, and some freckling at the breech.The 12 ga barrels retain about 98-99% original blue with some minor silvering at the muzzles and some thinning on the barrels. The frame retains about 98% original blue with light wear in the grasping area, around the safety, and on the triggerguard, and some fine freckling on the left side of the frame, and the trigger retains about 90% of its gold finish with speckled light wear. The checkered round knob pistolgrip walnut stock and forends are in very good plus to excellent condition with an about 1” scratch on the heel, minor spots of finish flaking on the toeline, and a few scattered light handling marks.
