Description:
This is most likely a KZ camp made item very late in the war. This matching wrapper and pants are done in undyed HBT from, I think, the very late war ersatz tree bark fabric material the Germans developed as an alternative to other fabrics which was in short supply, it is a very unusual cloth in texture and appearence. I have encountered only a few other tunics and uniforms in this material. This SS cut wrap and SS cut matching pants have all small closure pressed paper buttons and matching plastic/bakalite large closure buttons. All insignia is machine sewn and the sholder boards are burgundy piped in what is probably rayon. I doubt you will find another SS uniform as outstanding, unusual and rare as this one is anywhere. Pants and wrap are well marked and have the SS BW stamp for the SS Manufactory. While this shows staining from use, all buttons and buckles are present and in good condition as is the rest of this uniform. SH&I will be $50.00 on this in the lower 48.
