Description:
1892 OCTAGON RIFLE, .25-20 CALIBER, #915XXX, MADE 1920. Fine, well-taken care of example that still shows nice blue on the receiver sides mixing plum. Uncleaned gray/brown on the edges and top and bottom of the receiver with fine blue on the loading gate. The barrel shows fine deep lightly aged blue while the magazine is similar with perhaps a little more plum mainly on the bottom portions. Original flat top buckhorn rear sight with elevator bar intact and Winchester small blade front sight, exc. markings on the barrel and upper tang. Fine walnut stock and forend showing only light handling and very tight wood to metal fit. The bore is a little dark, but shows fine rifling throughout and would probably benefit from a good brushing/cleaning. An attractive 102 year old 1892 with a fine bore.
