Description:
This is a very early first year production Winchester model 52 serial # 217 made in 1920, while technically there were 18 examples built in 1919 the model was not produced for sale until 1920, this is one of 321 model 52's built in 1920. Lyman globe style front sight and very cool Marbles shuttering rear sight in the rear, by turning the aperature you adjust the size of the rear peep hole. Original Winchester magazine and unmarked boyt style commercial leather sling. at some point the stock was shortened to just under a 13" LOP to a thin black plate, would easily be able to get it to at least 13 3/4" by adding a standard pad. there is also (although not my style) a nicely done carving on the right side of the stock of a shield with initials in it. rifling is excellent, I have shot this gun and it is very smooth and accurate.
