Remington Sportsman 48 12ga, Standard Grade ( higher price model ).
Purchased new by my grandfather in 1958, in Hunt County, Greenville, Tx. Minimal use during dove hunting season for 10 years.
Has been in storage for past 40 years. Condition is 98% as appraised by Shoppy at Guns Plus in Surprise, Az.
No rust or scratches. inside barrrel, mirror finish, vry clean. Butt pad shows wear.
The gun was thoughtfully designed to be taken down to separate the barrel from the rest of the gun, increasing ease of portability for travel, etc. and was actually sold and delivered in “take down” mode.
Model 11-48 production ran 20 years from 1949 to 1969 and was ultimately replaced by the Model 1100, which is still in production all these years later. Remington made over 450,000 in that time.
