VERY HIGH CONDITION, FIRST YEAR PRODUCTION SAVAGE 1917 .380 AUTO PISTOL, #19XXX, MADE 1920. Only made from 1920-1928 with a total quantity of 14,223, the .380 M-1917 is considerably more rare than the .32 ACP version of which over twice as many were produced. This early example retains nearly all the original blue with perhaps a touch of wear at the muzzle on each side etc. Excellent grips with some tiny chips at the rear edge of the left panel where the grips meet the back strap. Almost too minor to mention. Still some good case color on the trigger sides. Exc. mechanically and bore. Along with Colt and Remington, the Savage was one of the best of the Pre-World War II pocket auto pistols.
