EXCEPTIONAL SPRINGFIELD KRAG U.S. MODEL 1896 INFANTRY RIFLE. .30-40 U.S. cal. All original and matching early Krag manufactured in 1896. Superb condition with 98% original blue. Magazine and it’s loading gate with nearly all the oil quenched grey-blue case hardening. Band with nearly all the bright blue. Rear sight with all the blue and near mint. Stock and hand guard with the original finish and little used. Good visible “LSA” script rectangular Sub-inspectors cartouche on stock. Encircled “P” proof behind trigger guard is very crisp. Perfect working order and excellent bright bore with crisp rifling. Best Model 1896 Springfield-Krag we have had in years. era.
