EXCELLENT SPRINGFIELD U.S. 1888 RAMROD-BAYONET MODEL TRAPDOOR .45-70 CAL. RIFLE WITH ORIGINAL SLING. 1892 production all original and matching rifle with approximately 98% original blue finish. Breech block with 40% plus case colors. Stock with all the original finish and very sharp and crisp “SWP/1892” (S.W. Porter) cartouche. Encircled “P” proof behind trigger guard. Right side of butt with Regimental/ rack number stamp “31/89”. Butt plate tang stamped “89” as well. Combination tool and cleaning rod attachments in butt trap. Perfect tight working order and very good bore with crisp rifling. Original issue Rock Island Arsenal inspected sling with Ordnance Sub-inspectors initial stamp “E.H.S.” in fine condition. Extra nice superior example.
