Description:
30 inch full octagon barrel chambered in 40-85 caliber with a mostly bright bore that is showing a few spots of light pitting near the muzzle. The barrel retains about 90% original blue with some thinning spots that have turned to a plum/brown. Sights include a blade front and a flattop sporting rear. The receiver has good amount of smokey case coloring with some areas of more vibrant color in the protected areas. Sides of the hammer and breech block show some good case color as well. Good patent markings on left side of frame. Smooth straight grip walnut stock and forend look and fit good while still retaining most original varnish. There is a small hole on top of the wrist. Crescent rifle style buttplate. Brass tipped hickory rod under the barrel. Double set triggers function properly. Not a bad example of Marlin Ballard No. 5 Pacific rifle.
