"Serial number 61201. Made in 1880. 45 LC caliber with a 7 ½" barrel. This is a beautiful gun with 85%-90% of the original finish. Absolutely beautiful gun. The left hand side of the grip is marked “1st Regiment" There are several examples of the other guns (also in excellent condition) with the exact same marking. This gun comes with a factory letter, a letter from noted Colt expert Charles Layson, and Colt Single Action expert and Authenticator John Kopec. Mr. Kopec concluded that there are a few screws replaced and that the hammer is a replacement from 1890s to 1900 era. He also says he does not believe this gun has ever been fired. Very Fine Original Colt Single Action Army!
