Remington Model 81 "The Woodsmaster" in 30 Rem. Caliber. There is no blue left on the metal showing a grey patina through out. The original serial number and manufacture info was ground from the left side receiver and a replacement Serial Number 5804 was restamped on the right side receiver. The restamped serial number was used to book this rifle The bore is clean - shiney with great rifling. The safety is working however it slips beyond the denten ball. The wood is very good with early Semi Beavertail Forend. The rear stock does not fit the top and bottom receiver tang perfect with tangs showing proud. The wood was probably replaced from a different rifle. The original metal butt plate is intact. There is a dent on the bottom of the magazine.I have fired this rifle and it functions well. Although this rifle is not pretty and not original it would make a good shooter or hunting gun and you would not have to worry about it in the Deer Woods.Also included is a box of Remington 30 cal ammunition which is included with the BUY IT NOW feature.
