Description:
***SOLD, shipped*** Highly coveted and very scarce PRE WAR Model 70 in 22 Hornet caliber! Not perfect, but absolutely untouched/undrilled and in outstanding original shape considering its 83 years. S/N 25*** with matching bolt made in 1940. There are scattered light handling marks and dings throughout the wood, but nothing distracting, and no gouges, cracks, etc. The bluing remains excellent showing 97% everywhere but the higher contact points of bolt, trigger guard, and buttplate.
The rear sight is a factory inletted/installed full base Lyman 48 WJS receiver sight with all matching component numbers. The rear bridge is perfect and UNDRILLED. I have also verified the chamber remains a true 22 Hornet and has never been reamed to K.
The 24" barrel has an excellent bore and the mechanical functions are flawless. A really nice and fun to shoot 70 that is quite tough to find from this era and in this caliber.
