Description:
Very rare variation of the Carl Gustav CG-63 built on the M96 receivers, this particular variant is the CG-63E which was built for England and widely accepted in the UK in the late 60s-early 70s, built in 1969 on a 1918 M96 action it was chambered in 7.62x51 NATO or 308 Win with a 29" barrel fitted with a bracket for the Parker Hale 5C receiver rear sight adjustable from 300-1200 which it currently holds, but also able to accept the Parker Hale "Twin Zero" micrometer sight. It has a "tunnel" front sight able to accept interchangeable inserts and currently holds a "ring on ring" type insert. Numbers match other than the floorplate which is not uncommon as these were built off of existing rifles that were torn down and re-built for a different purpose. It is unusual that it has a darker walnut stock than most of the CG 63 rifles and holds no disk in the stock which I believe is because it was built specifically for British use. Overall condition is excellent, superb condition with light handling marks and as far as rarity it is the only one chambered in 7.62 that I have come across.
