Description:
LONG DISCONTINUED STAINLESS STEEL PERCUSSION OLD ARMY .45 REVOLVER WITH ADJUSTABLE SIGHTS, #145-03XXX, MADE 1977. Considered the finest cap & ball revolver of all time, the Ruger Old Army was made in both blue and stainless steel with both fixed and adjustable sights. Made to take a .457" ball or bullet, these 7 1/2" barrel revolvers hold approx. 40 - 45 grains of black powder, (or black powder substitute)  making them powerful and accurate. Like the Remington percussion revolvers, the Ruger Old Army has notches between the chambers for the hammer to rest which allows the revolver to be carried with all six chambers loaded and the hammer resting safely in the notch. This one has seen light use only and has a bright bore, tight action and excellent grips.
