Description:
MARLIN MODEL 39, a genuine first year production (1922-23) factory original in every way in .22 caliber (S, L, LR) with most of the bluing in 97% condition with barrel and magazine with fading and slight loss of bluing. The barrel is 24" octagonal with original sights, rear adjustable. The bore is bright and glossy and the action is flawless, smooth as ever! Standard velocity ammo is recommended for this rifle since it does not have the HS stamp. There are 3 first, very early indicators: 1) the serial number 2803, 2) the knurled twist knob on the magazine tube release and 3) the wide horizontal lines on the butt plate (go to Google, Marlin Model 39 butt plates). The walnut pistol grip stock is in excellent condition with capped forearm and, as you would expect, a few minor dings and scratches. Please see pictures! This is a real gem suited for a real Marlin 39 aficionado. It is hard to criticize this 100 year old rifle---really nice! The price is $3000 including UPS shipping to the FFL dealer near you.
