Description:
This gun is 100% original and unmodifed with correct model 1884 dated breech lock and correct Buffington rear sight.  Serial number 450xxx dates the gun to 1889. The carbine was picked up in Nevada two weeks ago, at Las Vegas antique gun show and, per previous owner, it was used by one of the US Cavalry regiments during Apache Wars. I dont have any documented evidence of that but the amount of blood stain pitting on the gun which is easily distinguishable from regular pitting, somewhat attest to that. Stock also has dark stains that are consitent with blood enzymes. Springfield trapdoors usually fall into a short lived category that you could find like new because very few of them were used in action. This one shows quite a bit of use. The gun is fully fucntional with tight breech lock and shiny bore with strong rifling, however, the barrel has a faint ring around front sight area. No license needed to buy except NJ and NYC residents. Thanks, check my other listings.
