Description:
Up for sale is a custom Mauser chambered in 30-338 Winchester Magnum. She is a professionally built custom rifle based on an FN Mauser action. It has an exhibition grade, AAA walnut stock. This rifle is truly a work of art.
She is a well balanced, lightweight, and fully functional hunting or target weapon. It is in perfect working order.
It was custom made for a prominent Alaskan guide, who specified a 22" barrel to take advantage of heavy bullets with high ballistic coefficients (such loads are not overbore and thus do not need an extremely long barrel). The barrel sports a recessed crown.
The bolt is slick and locks up tight. It has a 3 position flag safety. I'm unsure of the trigger make, but has that perfect "glass rod" break. Note that I am hesitant to disassemble this rifle to determine the trigger make; I am afraid of scratching the stock or finish.
The stock's figuring is sublime and the checkering is simply amazing.
I assume it's been fired, but I can't tell. The bore is mirror bright. I can't see any erosion or any other issues, whatsoever.
It is a barely used rifle with minor handling marks, but there are no cracks, crown issues, or any others disfigurements. Please see the pictures.
The 30-338 is an amazing wildcat that has similar ballistics to the 300 win mag, but with one major advantage: it has a slightly shorter body and a longer neck, so it can handle the higher BC bullets better. I will also include dies and 50 brand new, formed cases.
Along with the dies and brass, I will give you the Leopold 3x9 scope that's mounted to it. Optics are clear.

I am sure you will be satisfied. This beauty is about as close to perfection as it gets, and it is the finest rifle I've ever owned. In fact, this is why I am selling it. It has turned into a safe queen and I like to use my weapons, and use them hard. I'm hoping she can find a less abusive home.
