Description:
These flintlock pistols were often called "muff" pistols as women often carried them in their muff or hand warmer. They were also called tap action pistols. This pistol is marked as being made in Paris and the makers name is also engraved on the gun, but I cannot make out the first letters of the name. It is a screw barrel gun. The barrels are screwed off of the gun to load it. When the barrels are removed powder is poured into the chamber and the ball is placed on top of the chamber and the barrels are replaced. After the gun has been primed it is ready to fire. There is a lever on the left side to select the barrel to be fired.
