Description:
For your consideration is a nice Husqvarna 1640 chambered in .270 Winchester, with a 24" barrel. Comes with a Redfield 6x18".

This is a really cool vintage rifle capable of good accuracy.

This is one of the best Mauser-type actions ever made. The action is incredibly slick and locks up tight. These actions were made in the post-war period in Sweden by master gunsmiths, and it shows. They simply do not make actions quite like this anymore.

The beechwood stock has some typical handling marks, but no major scratches, no gouges, no cracks.

The blueing is original and shows some wear, but it's not terrible. It's typical wear for a rifle of this vintage that was used in the field. I noticed a very thin, pinky nail sized surface rust spot that disappeared with some hoppes. I added a picture of it under a bright shop light, but you can't even see it.

Bore looks good and bright. I can't see any erosion, but it's not mint. The .270 has always been a civilian round, so corrosive military ammo wouldn't have touched this. I believe it was made in the mid-1960s, well after corrosive primers were phased out. It is accurate. I've shot it maybe 150x, and it's capable of MOA accuracy with experimentation and a little luck. I think it's safe to expect 1.5 MOA with handloads or match-grade ammo, which is very good for a rifle of the time period.

The very outer edge of the crown is just a hair rough due to case wear, but the crown face and muzzle are in good condition.

I will include a vintage Redfield 6x18 scope. The optics are a littlle foggy when you compare it to a modern HD scope, but it's totally functional and fine for hunting or target shooting.

This is a nice rifle and will make a fine shooter or hunting rifle.  Enjoy!
