Description: This is a Colt Model 1851 Navy 36 cal. revolver The serial number is 82368 All numbers match on the frame, backstrap, cylinder and barrel. I did not check the wedge. The grips show a lot of holster wear at the bottom on both sides. No cartouches are visible. The top of the barrel is marked Address Saml Colt Hartford Ct, The navel scene on the cylinder has worn off but the serial number is there. Overall a solid Navy with lots of nicks and dings and some fouling damage to the nipples. The half cock, full cock loading lever all function and the cylinder rotates on half cock. Many guns in this number range were part of a U.S. contract and were sent to the Calvary in the West.
