Description: Drillings, Double Rifles, and Rifles - A full sidelock double rifle drilling in 35 Winchester. I have to admit this is the first time we have seen a drilling in this caliber. This cartridge was developed by Winchester in 1903 and certainly possible the Germans tried it. They did have some enamor with American cartridges. We have seen many German drillings in 30-30 for example. The rifling is strong in both barrels. The right barrel shows some small amount of pitting between the lands in the first six inches or so and then cleans up to near new looking like the left barrel. The gun is tight on face. *** Note: To see this gun with high resolution photos and a zoom-in feature, go to the vintagedoubles main site and search for the gun ID: 4988 or browse the main site to see our full gun collection. |
