Scarce Remington "The New .22 Repeater" Pre Model 12 pump action rifle, as indicated by the lack of a model number and the "PEDERSEN'S PATENTS JAN'Y 5, 1909 OTHER PATENTS PENDING" marking on the top of the barrel (line 2 of the barrel address), shoots 22 short, long and long rifle, 24" octagon barrel, 3/4 length mag tube with tubular feed, take down frame, walnut "corncob" fore end with 10 grooves, straight grip walnut butt stock with correct unmarked crescent steel butt plate (later the Model 12s had a Remington logo in the center of the butt plate), blued finish, classic tear drop ejection port, push button safety on the trigger bow, correct front sight, blank in rear sight dove tail, correct Lyman #2 combination tang sight mounted on receiver.
Metal surfaces retain 60% fine aged blue turned plum. Normal wear to mag tube from working the action, which is smooth and cycles perfectly. Case hardening on the butt plate has silvered out. Push button safety works as designed, as does the take down, feed tube release latch, and tang sight. Bore is good to very good, plenty of rifling, should make a fine plinker. Butt stock shows expected scuffs and nicks from use, with a 1" tight split coming back from the lower tang. Tight to all metal surfaces. Fore end is in excellent shape, no splits or cracks - commonly these are found with splits at the front end where the fore end is narrow - thankfully no damage here!
