Description:
This is a US Model 1892 Krag-Jorgenson Bayonet with a unsharpened, uncleaned 11 ½" blade having age soiling and oil residue on the surface with very little oxidation and no chips. The ricasso is stamped US and 1896. The guard is bright on one side and light oxidation on the other. The handle is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks and the correct original rivets. The pommel has some oxidation concentrated on one side. The scabbard body is bright with no finish and the hanger has most of the original finish. The hanger is missing the retainer button and althought still attached, is quite loose. Over-all this is a very nice example of the Model 1892.
